THE FIRST SHOTS ACROSS THE BOW OF ALL OF OUR RETIREMENT SHIPS

Here it is.......This is a clear shot across the bow of all of our retirement ships. This is all in preparation for getting the public used to the idea of a failed Social Security system. Thanks to all the illegal aliens getting benefits when ineligible and the abuses of the system by Doctors and health care providers, my generation will not have this safety net to rely on. Now with the military retirees and vets getting the shaft on the increase in health care cost, coupled with the decrease in service, how are the feds planning to take care of the vets that are or going to be eligible for SSI and Medicare? The military system is set up for that switchover when the member is old enough.......What now? Wait!..........I know!................The troops are going to get screwed all over again!!.........How nice......... There is another problem that is going to mainfest itself out of this situation.. There will be far fewer people the service a career because they will see there is nothing to look forward to. The military will be effectively gutted. That will mean a less able and capable military because there will be a shortage of experienced people to lead........Maybe that's the feds plan.....................

As per this article in the Military Times, the out of pocket cost for medical for retiree families will triple in cost per year and double the co-payment fees under the OBAMA universal health care plan. I have been wondering if his "plan" was going to end up screwing the retirees. I guess I was right (again). I urge all to write their reps via the means provided in the Military Times article or use the links I have provided on my page. This will no doubt really ingratiate him and the rest of the Dems with the military now. But, you can rest assured that THEIR medical coverage will not be touched or changed in any way. THE DEMS ARE GOING TO RAISE TAXES ON GAS

Here is another voice urging the politicians to raise taxes on gas. The say they want the revenues from this tax to go to fixing the infrastructure, meaning roads, bridges etc. They also don't want us to drive our "SUVs" any more either so they will try to price us out of our cars. Now I drive a Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0 lt v6. The thing is small and I fail to see how this small rig, under 3500 pounds is a "sport utility vehicle". I may be able to understand the "sport" part of it, but the "utility"?? The thing has very little cargo room, hauls 4 people, three like me and it gets crappy mileage. So is it because it is a 4x4? I don't know............I for one resent the government playing "parent" to me.

Have we reached the tipping point towards socialism? I guess you'd get different answers from everyone, but I am of the opinion that we are in fact, teetering on the edge and about to fall. I don't think it will be possible to get back on the side of capitalism once we fall. Before the election, I would have never believed we'd be where we are now with all the so-called bailouts. It seems everyone is rushing to get in line for a handout and no one is thinking about the future ramifications of their actions will have on the country. What I am speaking of is how much control the government has in our private life and in private industry, and how that relationship manifests itself in the end products and lifestyle we will be forced to live (or endure).This country was not founded nor was the Constitution written so as to allow big oppressive government. In fact it was crafted with such verbiage so that it wouldn't. When the government is allowed to pour money into ANY endeavor, it will always take some sort of steps to control whatever entity it is. Look at state governments. For example, if a state refuses to "play ball" with the Feds, what do they do? They threaten to cut off whatever Federal aid moneys that will have the biggest impact on the offending state. Usually that works and the state complies. I am sure that the same tactic will be employed with the automakers, banks, newspapers, corporations, or whatever organization/s come begging for a handout.I am sorry to say that anyone who does not believe that is either ignorant or deluding himself or herself. It is a fact and it will happen. Those that have read this "Blog" may have noticed that I have not written one word of criticism about GW Bush. I am however forced to do so now because in part to new revelations AND what I have learned since starting this publication. He has firmly and decisively put us on the path to socialism in the latter months of his administration.Much to the dismay of his fellow Republicans too I might add. He is going to go down in history as the highest squanderer of money in Presidential history. He has single handedly put us on the road to socialism. Those that know me will know that writing this about GW is difficult for me because he was my last Commander and Chief as I retired from the military on his watch. I have always been of the opinion that he was a great President especially because of what he did to protect the country after 911.(My generations Pearl Harbor) Since my retirement and especially within the last year, there has been some revelations on my part that causes me to call into question my loyalty and high opinion of him. This move toward socialism is one. There is another but I will reserve that for a future post. But, moving on, everyone needs to pay close attention to the political dialogue going on now especially on the side of the Dems with regard to the Federal bailouts. There was a time when they (The Dems) were all against big business, but now all they want to do is bail them out. If you listen to Rep. Barney Frank, Dem. MA, talk about the bailouts, you'd hear him say now that corporations aren't about big business, it's about the people in them and how we should not allow them to starve.Well, nobody wants anybody to starve and nobody will, but his political double standard slip is showing and he is revealing himself to be the career politician that he is. Personally, I can't stand to even listen to him. I find him offensive in speech and appearance. I am soooo glad he is NOT my Rep, however we here in Washington State have our own career politicians and they are also Dems. So with that being said, and both Houses are controlled by the Dems, we are headed towards socialism like a snowball headed to hell.The United States of America, as we know it, is going to cease to exist very soon because the politicians are running toward that goal line like a track star running for the gold in the Olympics. Has everyone forgotten about socialism's history and it's current state today. Has everyone forgotten these famous words spoken by Winston Churchill "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it". Or even for our socialist friends who admire Karl Marx "History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce."The only thing we can do is be vigilant and keep track of all of their actions on the floor and they’re voting. Does anyone else see the problem with this scenario?? As this article states, it is the job of the media to keep an eye on the politicians. God knows no politician can be trusted to not usurp their authority and/or seek more power over the populace. If the print media gets bailed out by the government, the politicians will have a direct pipeline to the editors and owners and be able to apply pressure to print, or most importantly NOT print news that may be derogatory, painting the government or certain politicians in a bad light. This unfettered "over-watch" that the media is supposed to do must remain free and un-censored if we are to have any type of control over our elected officials. I'm sure there are many who would just jump at the chance to control what the print media reports. If print media is controlled, how long will it be before radio and television fall victim to the same oversight? This blog could fall victim to this type of censorship too.

Once again the Dem Governor of Oregon is looking to raise taxes. The working stiff cannot catch a break with this guy. He proposes using satellite technology to track how many miles Oregonians will drive. So, even if you'd have bought a fuel efficient car or truck to save on gas, your going to get dinged anyway on the mileage tax. He is just doing what Dems do,....raise taxes every chance they get. I don't know about how anybody else thinks about this idea, but to me it makes about as much sense as having Forest Gump teach astrophysics. My question is; How in the hell is a "CAR CZAR" who knows nothing about the financial model of each company, going to fix this mess and get each automaker back on track? In my opinion, there has NEVER been a "CZAR" of any kind that ever did any good, no matter what the issue was. This is nothing more than big government, dictating to the private sector on how to do business. It looks like our President Elect is looking to Al Gore to be his environmental advisor or something of that sort. Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 with his so called documentary. Since then, there has been a lot of scientists come forward stating that global warming is a myth and we are quite possibly going into a mini ice age, the like was experienced in the dark ages around 1600AD. Well, if there was anybody who could get us to sign on fully to the Kyoto Protocol, he could do it. My guess is that the Judges will have decided not to hear the case. I believe that they my be trying to avoid any Constitutional entanglements and side step the issue. I believe that this issue must be addressed in order to maintain the viability of the Constitution AND the Supreme Court. If this issue is not addressed to the satisfaction of the public, the peoples confidence in the Supreme Court will plummet, not to mention what that effect that would have on the Constitution. Below is a story that went out yesterday on the Drudge Report. I went looking for it today because I was going to link to it for this article. But the story is gone and not to be found. I found it by doing a Google search. Thankfully I found it and was able to grab it. That in it self concerns me. This isn't the first time I have seen such alarming news to find later it had been pulled and not to be found. My concern over this is not misplaced. I am concerned that once the Feds put troops in place wherever, the possibility of civil rights abuse is quite prevalent. First, let me give you a little background. I am a 29 year military police officer retired. I served in both the regular Air Force and the Air National Guard System. Now, there are a few questions we have to ask. #1. Where are to troops going to come from? A. The troops could be either Active duty regular Army (Whatever Branch) or Guard and Reserve. In the article it is mentioned that the Guard and Reserve is not adequately equipped. Prior to 911 that was true. However, since 911, a lot of Units received the funding they needed to get up to operational/deployable status. The same funding could be used to equip these troops in accordance to their new mission. If these chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or high-yield explosive attack, or CBRNE Units are posted around the country, each unit must be specially equipped as to their mission tasking and be able to move on a moments notice wherever needed in the country. Now each state has their own Militia and is in my opinion, better suited to the task. I believe the National Guard will be tasked. Question #2. In what capacity will these troops operate? Will it be Federal (Title 10) or State (Title 32)? A. In my opinion, the vast majority of the time they will function under Title 32, but in the case of emergency, at the swipe of a pen, can become Title 10 in a heartbeat with hip pocket orders. #3. Are our troops trained adequately for domestic operations? A. Don't forget, our troops have received superb training in urban warfare in Iraq. They know how to kick in doors, neutralize threats, and they do it very well. Now, with all that being said, I am very concerned over the possibility of civil rights violations because of what was ALLOWED to happen in New Orleans after Katrina. The Governor of Louisiana with the concurrence of Mayor Nagan, ordered ALL guns to be confiscated. So the police went house to house and did just that. All guns to include family heirlooms were confiscated and some immediately destroyed. This happened to a families heirloom handgun. It was destroyed on the spot. The Government disarmed all law abiding citizens in the guise of security and the pre-eminent state of emergency. So, what is to happen if the unthinkable happens in one of these cities that has these CBRNE units in place? Are they going to be ordered to disarm everyone? And if so, will they do it? It is such a blatant violation of the 2nd Amendment that I would like to believe that no one would be crazy enough to do it. I realize that this is a very controversial move on the Governments part, but to a degree, I agree with the principle or overt objective here. However, if history is our guide, our Government has had the habit of when given an inch, takes a mile. In this case, can we afford that? Do we trust our elected Representatives to do the right thing and not violate our rights that are guaranteed by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights? If New Orleans is any guide.....we're in trouble........

Pentagon to Detail Troops to Bolster Domestic Security

The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials.
The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts, defense analysts said.
There are critics of the change, in the military and among civil liberties groups and libertarians who express concern that the new homeland emphasis threatens to strain the military and possibly undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old federal law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement.
But the Bush administration and some in Congress have pushed for a heightened homeland military role since the middle of this decade, saying the greatest domestic threat is terrorists exploiting the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Before the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, dedicating 20,000 troops to domestic response -- a nearly sevenfold increase in five years -- "would have been extraordinary to the point of unbelievable," Paul McHale, assistant defense secretary for homeland defense, said in remarks last month at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. But the realization that civilian authorities may be overwhelmed in a catastrophe prompted "a fundamental change in military culture," he said.
The Pentagon's plan calls for three rapid-reaction forces to be ready for emergency response by September 2011. The first 4,700-person unit, built around an active-duty combat brigade based at Fort Stewart, Ga., was available as of Oct. 1, said Gen. Victor E. Renuart Jr., commander of the U.S. Northern Command.
If funding continues, two additional teams will join nearly 80 smaller National Guard and reserve units made up of about 6,000 troops in supporting local and state officials nationwide. All would be trained to respond to a domestic chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or high-yield explosive attack, or CBRNE event, as the military calls it.
Military preparations for a domestic weapon-of-mass-destruction attack have been underway since at least 1996, when the Marine Corps activated a 350-member chemical and biological incident response force and later based it in Indian Head, Md., a Washington suburb. Such efforts accelerated after the Sept. 11 attacks, and at the time Iraq was invaded in 2003, a Pentagon joint task force drew on 3,000 civil support personnel across the United States.
In 2005, a new Pentagon homeland defense strategy emphasized "preparing for multiple, simultaneous mass casualty incidents." National security threats were not limited to adversaries who seek to grind down U.S. combat forces abroad, McHale said, but also include those who "want to inflict such brutality on our society that we give up the fight," such as by detonating a nuclear bomb in a U.S. city.
In late 2007, Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England signed a directive approving more than $556 million over five years to set up the three response teams, known as CBRNE Consequence Management Response Forces. Planners assume an incident could lead to thousands of casualties, more than 1 million evacuees and contamination of as many as 3,000 square miles, about the scope of damage Hurricane Katrina caused in 2005.
Last month, McHale said, authorities agreed to begin a $1.8 million pilot project funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency through which civilian authorities in five states could tap military planners to develop disaster response plans. Hawaii, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Washington and West Virginia will each focus on a particular threat -- pandemic flu, a terrorist attack, hurricane, earthquake and catastrophic chemical release, respectively -- speeding up federal and state emergency planning begun in 2003.
Last Monday, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates ordered defense officials to review whether the military, Guard and reserves can respond adequately to domestic disasters.
Gates gave commanders 25 days to propose changes and cost estimates. He cited the work of a congressionally chartered commission, which concluded in January that the Guard and reserve forces are not ready and that they lack equipment and training.
Bert B. Tussing, director of homeland defense and security issues at the U.S. Army War College's Center for Strategic Leadership, said the new Pentagon approach "breaks the mold" by assigning an active-duty combat brigade to the Northern Command for the first time. Until now, the military required the command to rely on troops requested from other sources.
"This is a genuine recognition that this [job] isn't something that you want to have a pickup team responsible for," said Tussing, who has assessed the military's homeland security strategies.
The American Civil Liberties Union and the libertarian Cato Institute are troubled by what they consider an expansion of executive authority.
Domestic emergency deployment may be "just the first example of a series of expansions in presidential and military authority," or even an increase in domestic surveillance, said Anna Christensen of the ACLU's National Security Project. And Cato Vice President Gene Healy warned of "a creeping militarization" of homeland security.
"There's a notion that whenever there's an important problem, that the thing to do is to call in the boys in green," Healy said, "and that's at odds with our long-standing tradition of being wary of the use of standing armies to keep the peace."
McHale stressed that the response units will be subject to the act, that only 8 percent of their personnel will be responsible for security and that their duties will be to protect the force, not other law enforcement. For decades, the military has assigned larger units to respond to civil disturbances, such as during the Los Angeles riot in 1992.
U.S. forces are already under heavy strain, however. The first reaction force is built around the Army's 3rd Infantry Division's 1st Brigade Combat Team, which returned in April after 15 months in Iraq. The team includes operations, aviation and medical task forces that are to be ready to deploy at home or overseas within 48 hours, with units specializing in chemical decontamination, bomb disposal, emergency care and logistics.
The one-year domestic mission, however, does not replace the brigade's next scheduled combat deployment in 2010. The brigade may get additional time in the United States to rest and regroup, compared with other combat units, but it may also face more training and operational requirements depending on its homeland security assignments.
Renuart said the Pentagon is accounting for the strain of fighting two wars, and the need for troops to spend time with their families. "We want to make sure the parameters are right for Iraq and Afghanistan," he said. The 1st Brigade's soldiers "will have some very aggressive training, but will also be home for much of that."
Although some Pentagon leaders initially expected to build the next two response units around combat teams, they are likely to be drawn mainly from reserves and the National Guard, such as the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade from South Carolina, which returned in May after more than a year in Afghanistan.
Now that Pentagon strategy gives new priority to homeland security and calls for heavier reliance on the Guard and reserves, McHale said, Washington has to figure out how to pay for it.
"It's one thing to decide upon a course of action, and it's something else to make it happen," he said. "It's time to put our money where our mouth is."

I would think that now, especially after the GOP just took a huge shellacking from the Dems that a bill of this nature would be unthinkable and out of the question. The GOP has to remake itself and a move like this is going to do nothing more than drive more conservatives away from the party. I would imagine that if this bill were to somehow pass, that would be the end of the GOP. Good Conservatives will not tolerate any more messing around with the 2nd Amendment and the GOP would be well advised to leave that issue alone, or risk the complete collapse of the party. In my opinion, this legislation is flawed and will do nothing to lessen violent crime of any kind. All this bill will accomplish is depriving law-abiding citizens of these types of weapons. The criminals will always have access to them. The voting American public understands what is being attempted by our Representatives who were elected to represent us and who swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States, including the 2^nd Amendment. This bill in no way serves the law-abiding public and appears to be nothing more than a thinly veiled attempt to disarm the public of these so called dangerous assault weapons. This guy has no clue as to what "security" is and what kind of security threat the use of such a devise by someone in such high office. The Presidents communications must remain secure at all times...period. In no way can a method of communication be allowed to lead to some sort of security breech, whether it would be the interception of normal conversation or, and most importantly, anything of a classified nature be allowed to be compromised in any manner. These things are not even allowed in the same room where classified briefings are being held. That is by security regulations and policy that are not meant to be violated at ANY time. In my opinion, this guy is a security risk.

Now this is just getting completely stupid and out of hand. This is thanks to a 1984 agreement between the auto workers union and the big 3. Now don't get me wrong, I think there is a place for unions. My wifes work had to bring one in just to get protection from the draconian practices of the district manager, but this autoworkers deal is too much for the American public to stomach. In my opinion, the UAW is the reason why the big 3 are not competitive. Too high wages and benefits for the workers. All I can find puts the wages at w/benefits at around $70hr. If that is true, HOLY SHIT............I am speechless. What a gravy train!!!

The contention is, Obama is not naturalized. I have to admit, when I was researching this, it was tough to find. I was amazed to find that most hits were about questioning the eligibility of John McCain. He was born of parents in the military in Panama. THE SECURITY OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY

The contribution to the war effort by the big 3 automakers was crucial to the war effort. The Ford Company focused on airplanes and the new 4 wheel drive design called "jeeps". The B-24 bomber was made by Ford at their Willow Run plant. General Motors built all types of tanks , amphibious vehicles, aircraft engines and airplane propellers. The Oldsmobile division of General Motors made artillery shells. The Chrysler Corp. also became well known as a tank builder. All total, the auto industry manufactured about $29 billion dollars worth of products, about 12.5 million shells and almost 6 million guns.
As screwed up as the automakers seem to be, we cannot allow them to fold. Simply put, we need their abilities and talents to keep us free and secure. We cannot become dependent on war materials that are foreign made. The vehicles, guns or planes or whatever else we need must be home grown Nor can we do without their flexibility/ability to quickly retool in order to make whatever other products we may need in a time of war. It's that simple.

I was all set to sit down in my lonely, dark, dank writers garret and work on this page, however...., that all changed as I pulled into my driveway. There was a neighbor lady walking her dog out in the street in front of my house, and there was a pit bull there harassing her trying to get at her dog. Me being a 29 year retired military cop, I grabbed my Asp baton and proceeded to do everything I could to to fend off the pit bull. The pit charged me several times and I was able to get in a couple of strikes as I dodged it when it was attacking. I was able to get the pit distracted enough to get the lady in my house with her dog and call the authorities. So, anyway, I'm not in the correct frame of mind to be any good at writing now. So I will sit here, in my lounge chair and have a drink and try and calm down for the rest of the night. I'll be back at it tomorrow. Oh, by the way, all you Pit Bull lovers out there...........In my now INFORMED opinion, they are dangerous without any doubt in my mind...........

He started his political career in 1997 and today he is the 1^st African-American President (Elect) in U.S. history. If one was to go back and research the topic of race relations and riots, riots and other such confrontations have been going on as far back as at least 1908 when there were many killings in Springfield, Ill. As a kid growing up in that late 50s, 60s and early 70s, the riots in Watts, LA, Detroit, Washington DC, and Chicago are still a vivid memory as they were shown regularly on the evening news. My family would watch the “Huntley-Brinkley Report” as well as Walter Cronkite regularly. The TV would be full of images of the police beating the African-Americans or shooting them with water cannons and dragging them down the streets. The images of Martin Luther King standing up for equal rights for all were inspiring. Tragically, his life was cut short by an assassin’s bullet, but his vision lived on. All in all, I thought it was a very ugly time. Since then, there still have been many trying and difficult times and there have been many obstacles that had to be climbed and overcome. In my opinion, Mr. Obama’s election is a direct result of all those struggles and successes. Now that he has attained the highest office in the land, I have a hard time imagining the amount of expectation that is being heaped on him right now. It’s got to be mind numbing. It just seems to me that no matter how he performs these next 4 years, I can’t see how he is going to come out at the other end smelling like a rose with either party or the citizenry. I think that if he comes from the far left, the political backlash will be so great that the Dem’s will take a beating the next election. The same is true if he goes to the right. If he did that, he would loose his political backing in both houses plus piss everyone off that voted for him. Riding the fence might be his only option. Like I said, this is just my opinion and I am no political scientist so I may be WAY off on all of this.

He has stated publicly that he plans to close Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. What is he going to do with the detainees? Bring them to the U.S.? If he does that, the ACLU will sue to make sure every one of these detainees has a trial in our normal legal system. By doing that, our Intelligence community will be irreparably damaged because our information gathering methods will become public. Will he turn them loose? Do I really need to explain how bad that would be? I think not... Is he going to make sure that there is no kind of pressure will be put on the detainees to in order to get needed info? Yes he is. How are we then going to get any meaningful intel from these hard core scum bags without pressuring them? These guys are hard core and only respond to more "direct" methods of questioning. We ARE at war. We have to do whatever we need to do to get the information that will save lives. Nobody likes the "T" word........However, does anybody else have another method, a better method of getting the critical info from uncooperative prisoners? Plain and simple, they have no rights under the Constitution and should not even be considered for such protection. These are people who conspire and kill innocent women, children and whomever else suits their needs. They want all of us here in America DEAD. That is there goal.
